These safety tips include:
- Making sure the spare tire is fully inflated and has some tire tread.
- Bringing along a gallon of engine coolant in the event the engine overheats.
- Change the wipers and fill the fluid to the top.
- Be sure you back a bag of tools, road flares, and flashlights.
- Take a roll of duct tape for small emergencies like a leaking radiator hose.
- Pack a gas can in the event you run out of fuel.
- Put a few bottles of water in the trunk in case you are broken down without air conditioning.
